Something to do regarding the Newtown, CT tragedy
There's just so much going on in the news about this tragedy. I'm actually trying to stay away from it. Today is the third memorial of my brother's passing. It's also my sister-in-laws birthday. 12/15 is a very confusing day for me. To top it off, the tragedy yesterday is just unthinkable.
I am a teacher which makes me feel a little closer to the situation, but then again, so does anyone with a child. I did my student teaching in Newtown, the middle school, not the elementary school. I know people from Newtown. My wife grew up there for a bit. My mother in law has a friend who actually lost her child yesterday as a result. This is not about me at all. I just feel oddly connected.
I'm terribly confused. I feel like I need to do something, but had no idea what it was. I was invited to something on Facebook and it just sounded right. I am going to participate. Just throwing it out there for anyone else who just feels the need to do something.
