Friday training

Deadlifts were on the schedule today. There was a crew of four of us, myself, the other Steve, The kid and a guy named Cory. Since today was max single day the other Steve was chomping at the bit to get started. However, his visions of a 575 were dashed . . . twice. Corey did pretty well. I hit a 585 warm up pull beautifully but had another one of those high lat strains during the pull so I was done. The Kid hit a nice 555 pull (pictured here) which officially gave him a 100lb increase on his deadlift since starting to train with us in January. He was pretty jazzed about that and it I was proud of him. He has a LOT more in him too.

Overall I felt kind of shitty and tired, I did not sleep well last night at all. After I strained that muscle my body just lost any and all horsepower. This was my whole workout:

Front squats:
135x8
185x5
225x3x5

Deadlift:
135x8
225x6
325x5
405x3
495x1
555x1
585x1

45 degree hypers with added band tension:
5x15

Standing abs:
4x8
