Conditioning - A litte running
1/2 mile run, walk, run around the block. Not much, but a start. I constantly get this bug up my butt about running. When I was in my early 20's I got myself down to 180 lbs or so by running.
I always get disuaded about running becasue it could adversely effect my strength. Yeah, I don't care anymore. I want to run a little so I will run.
Wendler comes to mind when I think about conditioning. I find Jim inspiring on a number of levels. I'm a hamster on a wheel with the treadmill. Sure, it can serve it's purpose, but I have made it the cornerstone of my conditioning.
I'm going to get outside more often. I'd like to include hills, some running, and sled work for the core of my conditioning.
Almost forgot a funny story about my jaunt. During one of my short running bursts, I passed another runner going in the opposite direction. We looked at each other and did the head nod like we were kindred spirits. No more than 5 strides later I was walking and wheezing.
