Another quick one in the basement today. I just wanted to hit some pull ups and then eat dinner.
I decided to do something we used to do in High school. Our coach was an old powerlifter and used some very simple ideas to get work in hard and quick. This is one of those things.
Chin Up Drill
The premise is simple. Do 1 rep then wait 30 seconds and then do a set of 2. Then wait 30 seconds and do a set of 3. You keep adding a rep each set until you miss going up the next set. Rest remains at 30 seconds per set.
heres how it went for me.
Set of 1 rep
Set of 2 reps
Set of 3 reps
Set of 4 reps
Set of 5 reps
Set of 6 reps
Set of 7 reps
Set of 8 reps
Set of 9 reps
Set of 10 reps
Set of 10 reps failing on the 11th rep
I made my way up to 10 reps and couldnt get passed 10 on the last set up to 11. My back was pumped after this. This ended up being 65 reps in less then 7 minutes. THe first few sets are easy but once you get to those last few sets fatigue sets in and the last two sets seemed like all at efforts.
Ill hit delts tomorow and then its onto my 555 week.
