Monday
I felt so completely wrecked after Friday that I didn’t train at all this past weekend. On Sunday I got the chance to spend the day bonding with my youngest daughter as I drove her back to college. And by ‘Bonding’ I mean I was driving, answering emails on my blackberry in between bouts of nearly falling asleep while flying down the turnpike. My favorite thing to do when I take trips is to set up the trip in my GPS and then drive really fast and see how much time I shave off the estimated time of arrival. I like to live on the edge as I dominate the Turnpike. Try it, it’s fun.
When my daughter and I were getting her stuff out of the truck and I noticed that across the street from her house there was a lot of big, corn fed, muscular college guys were all coming out from their house eye raping my daughter. They looked like hungry wolves stalking an innocent sheep just waiting for the shepherd to go on his lunch break. Little do they know . . . I never take a break!
My nagging shoulder doesn’t seem to be letting up. I think it’s time to get a cortisone shot. I’m pretty sure it’s beyond wrapping an old inner tube on it or having someone step on it. So I just did this light and very uninteresting workout today:
Superset- dumbbell bench/lat pulldown: 5 sets at about 85% intensity
Superset- cable flyes/inverted rows: 5 sets at about 90% intensity
Superset- rolling dumbbell extensions/barbell curls: 4 sets at about 95% intensity
Superset- fat bar pushdowns/dumbbell curls: 4 sets at about 90% intensity
It wasn’t a bad little workout, my shoulder didn’t take a beating at all and I was pumped up pretty good from it. It may not have made me any stronger but at least my yumminess quotient went up a few notches. Y4L (Yummy for Life)
