I’m really battling for energy today in the gym because of an incident that went on here last night. I had left work at my normal time of around 7:00, cooked and prepped all my food for the next day, picked up my daughter from work, took my shower and was finally ready for bed at around 10:30. My phone rings and the caller ID says “Mary”, the girl that works till midnight for me at the gym. If she calls me that late it’s NEVER going to be anything good. I cringe and say “Yo Mar’ what’s up?” She is panicking on the other end of the phone saying something about water coming out of the wall and the gym is flooding. I calmly responded by saying “FUUUUUUUUCK!” really loud. I told her I would be right there, jumped in my truck and raced down to the gym. I get there to find a waterfall cascading down from this deck area over the stone room and a huge puddle moving its way across the gym. It turns out that there is this little, old water heater up there that feeds the mop closet below that had burst a pipe somehow. We just shut it off at the valve and thank god the waterfall stopped. We then had to clean up the water long into the night. These are the joys of owning your own business. See, it’s not all internet fame and glory.
Today I did a light leg day that looked like this:
Supersetted leg extensions with leg press with added band tension 5 sets of 15/15 90% intensity.
Front squats: 5x5 at 70% intensity then 3x3 heavier sets at 80% intensity
GH raises with light band tension: 5x12
Front neck raises: 5 sets
I just wanted to send a big EliteFTS congrats to Matt Mitchell. Matt is one of my online training clients, who lives nearby, stopped into the gym to test his 1RM in the deadlift today. He’s been training under my expert internet tutelage now for a couple months but this was the first time I ever had the chance to work with him in person. He ended up pulling 380lbs for a 20lb PR and then the whole gym got behind him as he smoked 400lbs for another PR! I love it when a plan comes together.
