Bench Day
Today was a long day. I had to go into work today at 6AM and work till 5PM before driving a half hour straight to the gym. In case you didn’t know, I manage a supportive living program. I have 20 employees that I supervise to meet the need s of 15 developmentally disabled adults. My day is spent coordinating the finances, health, community integration, and everything in between for these people. 99% of the time I am doing administrative things like scheduling, giving trainings or attending meetings on some ones behalf. Once in a blue moon though I run out of staff and have to cover a shift. This happens about once a quarter and I really like doing this. It connects me to my clients and my staff more. The down side is I usually don’t work until 8:30 or so and the shift I needed to cover started at 6AM. This was a big difference and cost me about 2 hours of sleep. On top of that I had to finish all my June schedules today and find out how to give everyone off who requested it for vacations while keeping the clients covered with staff. In the afternoon my work had a garden party to thank our supporters and they had it catered. So I basically had about 300 grams of carbs right before I left for the gym. This is not good for someone that backloads. I felt like I was going to fall asleep in my car on the ride. On top of that I forgot my clothes and had to train in work clothes and dress shoes. Luckily today was a rather easy week and my long day didn’t mess things up gym wise.

Intensity and volume was very low. I am resting up for a big workout next week and want to be as fresh as I can be.
