5K Results
So I ran a 5K Saturday. My 5 month pregnant wife and I ran together for my works fund raiser. I have taken it very easy cardio wise since the ARNOLD so I was kind of nervous Saturday morning. I didn’t care about walking or not. I was more concerned with coming across the finish line as “That guy”. You know, the one who had no business doing the damn thing. Fortunately I was still in descent condition due to all the HIIT I did cutting for the ARNOLD and this was a breeze. We finished in 36 minutes. We walked the hilly parts to keep my wife’s HR rate but besides that I was proud to be able to jog the entire course other than that. It was on grass and very hilly but a nice scenic trail. My wife had a harder time then me but only because she had to go slow. Her best 5K is 20 minutes so 36 minutes was en eternity for her. I am doing another 5K race next month for my wife’s work fund raiser. I have been to a ton of races as my wife does marathons and triathlons multiple times per year. It was pretty cool to eat the post race food and actually be entitled to it for once LOL. I really enjoyed doing this and felt great afterwards. After the 5K next month I may look into doing a 10K in the summer.
