I have a shooting pain in my shoulder when i bench/squat, originating from the attachment of my delt to my humerus, but i feel the pain around the anterior and posterior deltoid now.
I tweaked it 2 weeks ago when warming up with just the bar for bench press. After the training session it killed.
Ive done no training, just iced it for ten minutes, then heat for ten minutes x 3 ( for an hour), 3-4 times a day, and have done this for the past 2 weeks.
Anything else you could suggest to help heal it, as it doesn't seem to work. Still feel it just by doing bodyweight press ups.
btw meant to have my first ever meet, bench only unequipped, in 6 weeks time!
It sounds to me like you've done everything right so far. If two weeks of rest didn't allow it to recover, I think it is time to go see a physical therapist. I have had similar injuries in the past and a few sessions of deep tissue work by an experienced sports massage therapist or physical therapist have worked wonders.
